About Me

Beth Krusi

Certified Professional Dog Trainer CPDT-KA, Certified Trick Dog Instructor CTDI, AKC Approved Evaluator, AKC Farm Dog Judge, AKC Fetch Judge

Hi I’m Beth!

I live on a hobby farm in Smithfield, Utah, and have always had a passion for working with animals. When I was 12, I started at Milky Way Dairy as a calf feeder and eventually became the Calf Manager/General Ranch Hand. I worked there for 8 years!

It's funny how working with cows led me to dogs—everyone on the dairy had one! Over the years, I helped raise many puppies, taking them everywhere, always with a pocket full of treats. My experiences there played a big role in bringing Reggie, my black Labrador, into my life. He spent his first years at the dairy with me.

Reggie is my heart and soul dog. My professional dog training career began with him. He loved learning tricks, obedience, and, of course, water sports—dock diving was his specialty! Watching him make a splash inspired my passion for training, and I quickly found myself getting into Stand Up Paddle-boarding and swimming to keep up with him on the water.

As a longtime lover of art, especially animal art, I naturally found myself drawn to dog photography. Reggie helped me master the art of photographing black dogs, becoming my main muse. He also loved hiking in the mountains, reminding me to slow down and enjoy life as we logged many miles together.

Reggie opened many doors for me, including landing an internship with a local dog training company. From 2019-2021, I served as the lead trainer/manager, working with over 800 dogs and their owners. During this time, I became a certified dog trainer through the CCPDT.

To maintain my certification, I complete 36 continuing education credits within each 3-year period. Some of my continuing education includes:

  • Rattlesnake Avoidance through Positive Reinforcement (Eileen Koval)

  • Canine Anatomy and Physiology (Sheilagh O'Sullivan)

  • Rally Basics (Janice Dearth)

  • Certified Trick Dog Instructor Course (Kyra Sundance)

  • Rocket Recall (Simone Mueller)

  • Canine Conditioning Program (Anna Lee Sanders)

  • Nosework 120 (Julie Symons)

  • Intro into Pulling Sports (Erin Lynes)

  • WW494 Building Nosework Skills (Stacy Barnett)

  • Freestyle and Beyond (Nancy Tanner)

  • B.A.T. 2.0 (Grisha Stewart)

  • Nosework 150: Scent Theory and Dynamics (Lucy Newton)

I love staying current with the latest research and training techniques.

My goal is to help as many people as possible gain the skills they need to be able to get out and enjoy life with their dogs!

Inspiration behind Rollover Reggie and Training Assistant.

Reggie was a true all-around dog, earning numerous titles:

  • Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

  • Community Canine (CGCA)

  • Certified Farm Dog (FDC)

  • AKC Novice Trick Dog (TKN)

  • Rally Novice (RN)

  • DMWYD Novice Trick Dog (NTD)

  • Intermediate Trick Dog (ITD)

  • Advanced Trick Dog (ATD)

  • 26 Alphabet Tricks (AtoZ)

Reggie was the best boy, making an excellent training assistant. He touched the lives of countless dogs and people. With his calm demeanor, he was a great neutral dog for socializing other dogs and an ideal choice for helping people overcome their fear of dogs. One of his specialties was teaching other dogs tricks, and his personal favorite was teaching dogs to swim. His love for the water was contagious, inspiring everyone around him to jump right in!

At the start of 2024, Reggie received an unexpected terminal cancer diagnosis. Despite our best efforts, he lost his battle just a few months later. No amount of time was ever enough. The hole he left is immeasurable. But his legacy lives on.

  • Good Girl in Training

Rosie joined our family in January 2023. Since then, she’s been working hard on building her confidence in everyday life, advancing in her scentwork training, and mastering her foundational skills. She’s always learning new tricks and constantly impresses us with her eagerness to grow and learn.

A few fun facts about Rosie:

  • Her favorite trick is spin. If there’s food around, she’ll start spinning on her own! It’s her way of saying, “Please give me a treat!”

  • She has an incredible nose and excels at Scentwork. While she’s a goofy girl at heart, when she hears her search cue, she gets straight to work and doesn’t stop until she’s found the scent.

  • Rosie is a super chewer! At this point, I think she’s destroyed every chew toy available—haha!

  • She loves to roll in the snow, and wintertime is definitely her favorite season!

  • Rosie is a yellow Labrador, and while the color can range from light cream to red fox, she’s definitely in the cream range!
